How You Can Help

Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank offers a variety of opportunities to become involved in supporting the fight against hunger. Participation in the work of the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank shall not be restricted. Any individual, congregation, organization or business may participate by donating time and/or service, food, or money.

The current cost to operate the food bank five days a week, excluding donated food, is approximately $200,000 annually. Since the food bank does not charge its clients in any way, all of these funds must be donated to the food bank each year.

Give Money

The Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank is Allentown’s only daily food bank, assisting families in need from Monday through Friday. Every dollar of your support helps provide this crucial support to approximately 57,000 people or more each year. The food bank also accepts gives in memory of or in honor of a loved ones and friends.

Give Gift Cards

The Allentown Food Bank also accepts gift cards that can be used for the purchase of food. Some grocers conduct drives in which financial donations are collected and provided to the Food Bank in the form of gift cards that can be used in their store to purchase food. Please call the food bank during business hours to arrange a donation.

Give Food

The Allentown Food Bank is delighted to accept food donations from individuals. Grocers, restaurant owners, and wholesalers also are welcome to make donations. All food donations can be delivered to the food bank from 8:30-11:45 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday or 10:45-11:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Be a Volunteer

Help the food bank feed families five days a week. Volunteers are needed Monday thru Fridays from 8:45am to noon and Thursdays from 4 to 6pm. Please contact the food bank at 610-821-1332 to register. We couldn’t do what we do without the help of our volunteers!
